A Filter Upgrade That Protects Your Air and Your Equipment

Most systems ship with a basic fiberglass filter that exists mainly to keep large debris out of the equipment. It isn't doing much about the finer dust that settles on your furniture a day after you clean. The Orange Anti-Allergenic Filter is a step up from that baseline — a two-layer pad that captures more of what's actually circulating. Ask us about fitting one to your system.

How the Two Layers Work

Air reaches the white side first. That's a depth-loading layer, and it does the heavy work — catching larger dust and debris before anything else.

What gets through then meets the orange side, which is treated with a tacky adhesive. Fine particles that would sail straight through a plain fiber filter stick to it instead of carrying on into your system and back out through your vents.

The combination is the point: one layer for volume, one for the fine material, working in sequence rather than asking a single medium to do both jobs.

Specifications

These pads are rated MERV 6 to MERV 8. That's a meaningful step above the basic fiberglass filters most systems are supplied with, while still passing the airflow volume your system was designed around — a filter that restricts airflow creates its own problems.

The media is 100% synthetic polyester, which is why it stands up to Florida's humidity instead of sagging or breaking down the way paper-framed filters can. It's also treated so the media itself doesn't support the growth of mildew, algae or fungi that gets trapped in it. That treatment protects the filter — it isn't an air treatment, and it isn't doing anything to the air in your rooms.

The Reusable Frame

Rather than a disposable cardboard filter, we fit an aluminium frame to your system once. From then on you replace the pad inside it, not the whole assembly.

Because the frame is fitted to your equipment and the pads are cut to size for it, there's far less of the air bypass you get around the edges of an ill-fitting cardboard filter — and air that skips the filter takes its dust straight to your coil.

Pads are sold in packs of twelve. When you fit a new one, the orange side faces the coil and the white side faces the return air, so the airflow meets the two layers in the right order.

What It Does for Your System

Catching more dust before it reaches your equipment protects the two components that suffer most from buildup: the evaporator coil and the blower wheel. A coil that stays cleaner keeps transferring heat properly, and a blower that stays cleaner keeps moving the air it was designed to move. A cleaner system also holds proper airflow, which reduces strain and helps it run the way it should.

If your coil and blower have already accumulated buildup, a better filter won't undo that — it keeps the next cleaning effective for longer rather than replacing the need for one.

Where Filtration Fits With Everything Else

A filter handles what's moving through your system right now, and that's not the whole picture. Debris already sitting in your ducts is a job for air duct cleaning. Growth on the coil surface itself is what UV germicidal lights address. And if you want finer particle capture than a MERV 6-8 pad provides, HEPA filtration is a different conversation with different airflow considerations — we'll tell you honestly which one suits your system.
